A dream

Started in April 2007 with a dream to get all Dutch companies in Second Life, we bought our first sim (Zakelijk Nederland), to put all companies on. It was a tough job. We were on the right track but after the credit crisis, the interest of Dutch companies became less. So time to change our dream and focus on the virtual business market. Interested companies are of course welcome and we will provide a good service. We have helped several companies now with their presence in Second Life: the Dutch service Pharmacy, Jewel4U, Education Advice Zoetermeer and Mascotte.

Landsale

In the first two years we had already purchased a number of islands and they are now good selling products. We decided to shift the core business of our company to selling land in Second Life. Community

Almost every day there is something in the media about "online communities". In Second Life you can find countless of these communities. One of the sims that we bought earlier is 0031, the sim of DNB media. On this sim was and is still the old Dutch village Schoondamme. We developed the existing community into one of the largest Dutch communities within Second Life. Schoondamme is located next to the sims Zakelijk Nederland, Schoondamme2 and Virtulo. The sandbox, the informationpoints and games area are also popular spots on our sims.

Moneysale

When the land sale went well, it was time for the second part of our business. Offering Linden dollars (the currency in Second Life), this was our next logical step. Since June 1, 2010, the Virtuateq eXchange (www.virtuatex.nl) is now active and a healthy art of our company. We made the purchase of the Linden dollars as simple and easy as possible for our costumers. It is not necessary to create an account. An ATM or high transaction costs we have omitted. Just type in your avatar name, pay and within 5 minutes you will automatically receive your money in Second Life. Most of the Linden dollars that we sell, we gain through our land selling, that's why we can offer a very competitive price guarantee.

Marketplace

The development of the third part of our company has begun: the marketplace. This is where we want to give every Second Life visitor the chance to offer their products for sale. We will only aks a small percentage of the sale when you actually sold something. Because this is a huge project, we expect that the market is fully operational in 2011.

Nowadays

Our old dream of the Dutch companies in SL is far from forgotten. We are therefore currently doing a study, in cooperation with the Hogeschool Utrecht, into the potential for a Dutch company to have a successful business in a virtual world like Second Life.
